If You Damage a Pipeline

What to Do If You Damage a Pipeline

Damage to the pipeline coating caused by scrapes, dents or dings can lead to a future issue or leak if not repaired.

So, even if it does not appear that much damage was done, it is still important to contact Kansas Gas Service so we may inspect the pipeline and make any necessary repairs.

If the damage results in the release of natural gas, please leave the area immediately and then call 911 and Kansas Gas Service at 888-482-4950.

Do not attempt to repair the damage and do not attempt to cover with dirt or debris. Kansas Gas Service will inspect and make any needed repairs.

To report suspicious activity near pipeline facilities, call 911.
