Creating a Safer Tomorrow


For the fifth year in a row, the American Gas Association recognized ONE Gas, parent company of Kansas Gas Service, as a top safety performer in 2021 for having the lowest incident rate for Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART); read more about it here.

 

Since 2013, ONE Gas has seen continued improvements across three safety metrics:

  • 67% reduction in our Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
  • 87% reduction in our Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART)
  • 7% reduction in Preventable Vehicle Incident Rate (PVIR)

    Without safety as our number one priority, we wouldn't be where we are today. It has allowed us to strive closer each year to being a premier natural gas distribution company for our customers.

    However, we can't do it alone. This month is a great reminder to call 811 before you dig, step one to make sure everyone stays safe.

    Whether you're working on a small home improvement project or hiring a team for large construction, one phone call to 811 will prevent injury, damage and service outages by alerting owners of registered pipelines, telecommunication cables and power lines.
