Kansas Gas Service is installing a new natural gas distribution pipeline that will run from East Magnolia and South Holmes Roads to the corner of East Crawford Street and South Marymount Road in Salina, Kansas, beginning the week of November 1, 2021.

“This project is designed to reinforce our natural gas distribution system and benefit our customers by allowing Kansas Gas Service to continue providing reliable natural gas service,” said Dawn Tripp, manager of public relations for Kansas Gas Service. “We’ll make every effort to work as safely and quickly as possible to minimize the impact to customers and those traveling in the construction areas.”

Construction will start at the corner of East Crawford Street and South Marymount Road. During construction, company officials anticipate that one lane of traffic will be closed going east on East Crawford Street. Traffic control signs will be on-site to facilitate traffic flow, and motorists are requested to use caution while driving around the work zones. Work is expected to occur Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional work on Saturdays.

Jomax Construction Company is the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service with this project, which is expected to last two to three months, weather permitting. Construction workers will carry photo identification badges that identify them as working on behalf of Kansas Gas Service.

The company does not anticipate any disruptions of natural gas service due to this project. If digging is required on the customer’s premises, workers will restore the area to its original condition once the work is complete. Customers directly affected will be notified by the construction contractor.
