OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – October 8, 2016 – ONE Gas, Inc. (NYSE: OGS) announced today that its Kansas Gas Service division has been selected by the U.S. Government to own, operate and maintain the natural gas distribution facilities at Fort Riley, a United States Army Installation in Kansas, under a 50-year contract. The terms of the privatization contract will be reviewed by the Kansas Corporation Commission and, if approved, Kansas Gas Service will start the transition process with an intent to commence operations in April 2020.

Fort Riley was established in 1853 and is located on 100,000 acres between Junction City and Manhattan, Kansas. It is home to the Army’s oldest continuously serving division, the First Infantry Division, the famed “Big Red One.” Fort Riley has more than 15,000 service members, 5,600 civilian workers, and supports over 5,000 retirees, 24,000 veterans and more than 18,000 family members living both on and off post. In fiscal year 2017, the total economic impact of Fort Riley on the region was $1.76 billion.
