Kansas Gas Service to Replace Natural Gas Meters in Newton
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – June 14, 2012 – Kansas Gas Service will be replacing natural gas meters throughout the city of Newton, Kan., beginning Monday, June 18.
Customers affected by this project will be notified by NPL Construction Company, the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service, or by a service notification card that will be posted at their home or business.
A standard meter replacement requires interruption of a customer’s natural gas service for approximately 20 minutes and access inside homes or businesses to properly re-light appliances. The contractors performing the work will carry photo identification badges that identify them as working on behalf of Kansas Gas Service.
The project is expected to be completed in four to five months. Upon finishing replacements in Newton, NPL will begin replacing meters in North Newton.
