Obtaining Natural Gas Service

Before contacting Kansas Gas Service to obtain new or additional natural gas service for your business, use our Seven Point Checklist to make sure you have all the necessary information.

Seven Point Checklist

  • The address and/or legal description.
  • One copy of your approved site plan.
  • Mark with an "X" on the site plan where you would like your meter. Kansas Gas Service will make every attempt to honor your choice, but in some cases we will need to negotiate for an agreeable location.
  • Provide the type of equipment and the input rating expressed in btus or cfh (cubic feet/hour). Example: 1 Gas Fumace-350,000 btu's.
  • Estimate how many hours the equipment will operate. Example: 1,000 hours annually for a gas furnace in the KS area.
  • Provide the pressure requirement for your equipment. This is usually found on the manufacturer's specification sheet. It is usually expressed in inches of water column, abbreviated WC or pounds per square inch, abbreviated PSIG.
  • Provide date for when natural gas service is required.
